GYS optical cable consists of single-mode or multimode optical fibers which are protected by loose tubes. Loose tubes are made of high modulus plastic and filled with compound to protect the optical fibers. Loose tubes (and filler rod) are stranded around the single metallic central strength member to form a compact and circular cable core, and the gap in the cable core is placed with dry water blocking yarn and tape. Double sided coated steel tape and polyethylene bonded to form the sheath. The steel tape longitudinally wrapped cable core provides better moisture resistance for optical cables, and has the ability to prevent gunshot and rodent damage.
