The fibers are positioned in a central loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tube is wrapped with a layer of steel tape longitudinally, which provides the cable excellent crush resistance. Two parallel steel wires are placed on both sides and then extruded into a polyethylene sheath to form the cable.
