5G opens a new era of Internet of Everything
Futong Group jointly hosted the World Optical Fibre& Cable 2018
On November 6th, the World Optical Fibre& Cable 2018 jointly hosted by CRU (Commodity Research Unit) and Futong Group was held in Hangzhou. Mr. Wu Hequan, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. Mr. Chen Tiexiong, vice chairman of CPPCC of Zhejiang and Mr. Wang Jianyi, chairman of Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce, Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce and the board of director of Futong Group, attended the conference and delivered speech.
As the world's top international event of optical fibre and cable industry, the World Optical Fibre& Cable is the only global conference of optical fibre and cable communication industry, with broad authority, representation and influence. The conference gathered more than 700 people including global optical fibre and cable industry giants, optical fibre preform, optical fibre, cable and optical system manufactures, industry experts and industrial chain customer representatives in the upstream and downstream industry chains of global optical communications, to discuss industrial development and the future of optical fibre and cable communication industry in the 5G era.
With the theme of "An Intelligent World Connected by Optical Fibre", the conference conducted in-depth discussions and communications on such hot topics as "global optical Fibre and cable supply and demand trend", "demand outlook brought by 5G and Internet of Things", " Belt and Road Initiative " and "intelligent manufacturing".
Mr. Wu Hequan made a keynote speech entitled "Optical Fiber Communications in 5G Era". He shared with the guests the future development of the optical fibre and cable communication industry in the 5G era. He pointed out that the 5G will redefine the telecom network technology, promote the integration of mobile network and fixed network technology, and the integration of computing and communication capabilities. Optical fibre communication technology will play a greater role in the 5G era. He said that China will realize the commercial use of 5G in 2020. The number of base stations required in the 5G era will be about 4-5 times that in the 4G era, and the bandwidth will be 10 times that in the 4G era. The dense networking of 5G base stations requires the application of a large number of optical fibres and cables, which puts forward greater demands and higher standards for optical networks.
Mr. Wang Jianyi said that it’s an era of "everything is interconnected and everything is possible", an era of "optical fibre connecting dreams to reality", and an era of "optical fibre and cables connecting the intelligent world". The global optical fibre and cable industry and the market will continue to be in an era of medium and high-speed growth in future 5-10 years.
He called on and proposed that the global counterparts should be together to be partners and win-win cooperation, promote the technological progress of the global optical communication industry, follow the " Belt and Road Initiative " and the concept of policy communication, facility connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration and closer people-to-people ties, facing the global competition and cooperation, work together to build an interconnected information world and make due contributions to a better life for mankind.
The conference also held the forum of China’s optical fibre and cable leadership, update from Chinese carriers, and technical perspectives from world optical fibre and cable manufacturing leaders, etc. The industry's top enterprises had extensive and in-depth discussions and exchanges with representatives of global optical fibre and cable industry giants and industry technical experts.
