
GYCFHTY (non-metallic strength member, loose tubes stranded with filling, dry type water blocking material and polyethylene sheath) air blown micro cable consists of single-mode or multimode optical fibers which are protected by loose tubes. Loose tubes are made of high modulus plastic and filled with water blocking compound. Loose tubes (and filler rod) are stranded around the non-metallic central strength member to form a compact and circular cable core. Dry type water blocking material are used in the cable core. For some sizes of optical cable, the central strength member is covered with a layer of cushion. Polyethylene outer sheath is extruded on the cable core.
